The Career Center invites all DePaul University students and alumni to participate in the 2011 Fall Job & Internship Fair. Don't miss this opportunity to interact with top employers recruiting for jobs and internships!
Full Description:
DePaul University's Fall Job & Internship Fair is designed exclusively for DePaul students and alumni. Recruiters from a wide variety of industries will be seeking qualified job candidates of all majors and experience levels at this event.
Please note that this fair is NOT open to the general public. You must be a DePaul student or alumnus to attend.
Professional dress is strongly recommended.
Registration:
Pre-registration (through DePaul.Experience's "Calendar" section) is greatly appreciated.
Pre-registration will be available beginning Summer 2011 until Wednesday, Oct. 5th.
Free registration is also available onsite in room 120.
The list of registered organizations is available at http://depaul.experience.com/stu/cf_registered_employers?fhnd=5249. Note employer registration will not open until Summer 2011.
Prepare for the Fair:
1. Attend the "Maximize Your Job & Internship Fair Experience" workshop.
First impressions count! This workshop helps you maximize the Job & Internship Fair as an opportunity to showcase your skills and abilities in an active job searching forum. Workshops will be held:
Thursday, Sept. 29, 5:30-6:30pm - LOOP DPC 9500
Tuesday, Oct. 4, 5:30-6:30pm - LCP SAC 151
Thursday, Oct. 6, 12:00-1:00pm - LOOP DPC 9500
Pre-register for one of these FREE session through DePaul.Experience's"Calendar" section.
2. Visit the Career Center's Peer Career Advisors for a resume review.
Peer Career Advisors are highly trained graduates students who advise students and alumni concerning basic career related issues on a walk-in basis.
3. Dress for success & bring plenty of resumes!
Professional dress is strongly recommended by the Career Center ¿ it's what employers will expect of you! A business suit or a professional style pair of slacks, button down shirt or blouse and dress shoes are considered appropriate attire for job and internship fairs.
4. Practice interviewing online with InterviewStream. You can use InterviewStream whenever you want to prepare for all of your job, internship and co-op interviews.
5.Attend the "Tell Me About Yourself 101" workshop.

This workshop will help you build confidence in approaching and talking to potential employers at job fairs. Specifically scheduled before and during the Fall Job Fair, attendees will work on perfecting their introduction to employers. You will leave knowing exactly what to say when an employer says, "Tell me about yourself." To register, visit http://depaul.experience.com. Hosted by DePaul Alumni Sharing Knowledge (ASK), a network of DePaul alumni who volunteer as career mentors for students. To learn more about ASK, visit http://ask.depaul.edu.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a crew videotaping and photographing segments of this event. Images will be used in DePaul Career Center materials for internal and external audiences, including but not limited to brochures, websites, and newsletters. By entering the event premises, you grant to DePaul University the right and license to use your name, image, likeness and comments for such materials. If you do not want to be captured, please inform the Staff at registration
